Hi! My name is Ben and in my free time you can find me at the golf course, basketball court, or watching movies. I grew up on the central coast so naturally I wanted to focus my thesis on this area. What started as finding solutions for creating new affordable housing solutions in slo turned into a linear housing typology applicable near any railroad. I found that there is lots of wasted real estate along the railroad tracks, which would bring land costs down. Combining this with innovative building methods like 3d printing allows the railroad and any linear pathway to be an opportunistic place to build new housing for all. After graduation I will be working in real estate, and my goal is to someday be an advocate and catalyst for good design for affordable housing solutions on the central coast.
